"Outside I paint in oil on boards 30cm square. Indoors larger works of 70cm and 1metre squared are in Golden brand acrylic. Although working on a larger scale gives the opportunity to push a painting further over a longer period of time, it is important to me not to end up with an overworked result.
I like to keep something of the spontaneity I can get outdoors and believe that each part of a painting must be kept up to speed throughout the painting process keeping the whole painting open or “live” until the closing seconds."
